Anheuser-Busch
A time of perseverance in the face of major uncertainty
At Anheuser-Busch, I was a contract employee…a Shelf Planning Specialist on the Walmart Account.
My primary focuses were merchandising, data-driven assortment planning, and execution at scale.
While supporting the Walmart Spring 2026 Reset Campaign, I was also navigating the early stages of unexpected neuromuscular dysfunction. Starting work and handling my health at the same time required discipline, self-management, and a lot of tenacity. You can read more about my health journey in my Neuromuscular Rehab section. Despite having occasional stalls from tremors, proprioceptive mismatch, and doctors’ visits, expectations did not change.
Here’s what I accomplished:
I merchandised 93 Walmart beer aisles across the U.S., delivering data-driven planogram recommendations with a 100% internal approval rate.
My work focused on balancing strict merchandising guidelines with on-the-ground judgment. The goal was simple but high-impact: reduce out-of-stocks on top-selling items by increasing supply where demand was highest while also adding in emerging SKUs. This approach aimed to improve sales performance while keeping assortments fresh and competitive.
Here’s what my day-to-day looked like:
-Used Space Planning Plus to design and refine planograms.
-Managed timelines and shifting priorities across a massive national account.
-Tracked performance metrics, adhered to established standards, and coordinated my own schedule.
This role sharpened my ability to optimize resource allocation, follow complex guidelines, make judgment calls under constraints, and collaborate across teams…and I did it all while I wasn’t feeling at my best.
